PostHeaderIcon RACE ON!

Temperature is up, trail is in, let’s race! Official temperature at 458-7345, ext 1113 was -4 at 7 a.m.  That’s right, there’s no zero on the back-end of that four.  The 8 a.m. temperature should be just fine! Come on out, race, help us get started!

PostHeaderIcon Hope for race Sunday, January 22

I feel like I’m repeating myself, but again, there may not be a race tomorrow (Sunday), as the cold spell continues. Just like last week, CHECK THE WEATHER at 907-458-3745 option 1113. If it’s -24 or warmer, we’ll have a FUN RUN. If it’s -14 or warmer, it will be an official RACE!

Race order will be as follows:
3 and 4 dog class should be at the hall to sign in by 10:45.
11 am ski jor class, 11:30 is the 4 dog class, 6 mins after last adult entrant will be the 3/4 dog junior division.  16 mins after last 4 junior will be the 6 dog division, same with the junior class, 16 mins later the 8 dog class, while they are on the trail depending on entrants we can have the 1/2 dog class, and finish them during the adults’ open-class race, if need be. If there are few mushers the races will be over quickly. Be sure you are at the hall, and have your bib, fill out your paper work and pay your dues in plenty of time before the race!

Parents, please be sure to dress your mushers well, including your teenagers. Wind chill can be brutal, even for the 1-doggers and 2-doggers. The temperature drops quite a bit as the trail goes down the hill. Don’t let your children get frost bite!

PostHeaderIcon Race Plans for Saturday January 14

Mother nature has done it again! It’s -40 Friday night. The likelihood that it will be warm enough tomorrow (Saturday) to race? Pretty slim. Check the weather. If it’s -24 or warmer, we’ll have a FUN RUN. If it’s -14 or warmer, it will be an official RACE! Water at the hall may not be working, so if there is a race, please plan accordingly.
