Race Sunday January 8
The weather forecast for Sunday is iffy, so here’s the plan. The Fairbanks Junior Dog Mushers will race with the adults. If the temperature is -25 or colder there will be no race. If the temperature is -24 to -15, the race will be a “fun run” and is OPTIONAL. If the temperature is -14 or warmer, the race will be an official preliminary race. Remember, 14 is still cold! Parents, please be sure to dress your mushers well, including your teenagers. Wind chill can be brutal, even for the 1-doggers and 2-doggers. The temperature drops quite a bit as the trail goes down the hill. Don’t let your children get frost bite.
